Picote Concrete Removal at Heathrow Airport for BAM Nuttall Ltd

When BAM Nuttall's drainage investigation at Heathrow Airport uncovered hardened concrete blocking the tunnel drainage system, excavation wasn't an option. LDF passed financial and health and safety pre-qualification, completed a successful trial night, and delivered the full one-month project — removing concrete blockages from live airport tunnel drainage using Picote milling technology, working nights only in a tunnel carrying 500 vehicles an hour. On completion, BAM Nuttall engaged LDF to return for additional tunnels.

  • Picote milling used to remove hardened concrete from live Heathrow tunnel drainage without excavation or surface disruption
  • Works delivered on night shifts only (9pm–4:30am) over one month, with zero impact on daytime airport operations
  • BAM Nuttall engaged LDF to return for additional tunnel works following successful delivery
