Service Provided: Plumbing pipework replacement and drainage clearance
Challenge:
The pipework serving the upstairs toilets was located within a ceiling void, making it completely inaccessible. Over time, the system had developed severe bellies and internal scale build-up, resulting in frequent blockages. These blockages caused leaks at the push-fit joints, leading to flooding in both the upstairs bar area and the floor below. The urgency was compounded by the fact that the venue had recently undergone an extensive five-week refurbishment, making it critical to deliver a fast, minimally disruptive solution.
Solution:
With the pub only closed on Sundays, our team deployed three experienced plumbers to work in coordination with the client’s building contractor. Together, they carefully removed sections of ceiling and service boxing to access the defective pipework.
Once exposed, the team swiftly removed the failed pipework and installed robust, solvent-weld pipework, securely braced to prevent future sagging or movement. The remaining existing pipework was then thoroughly descaled to restore free-flowing drainage.
To futureproof the system and support easier maintenance, we collaborated with the building contractor to install accessible service points throughout the newly upgraded drainage system.
