Following a fatal car accident on the A528 near Ellesmere last year, the local council are planning to install an efficient drainage system as well as other improvements to road safety.
The aim of highway officials is to improve the driving conditions for motorists through these major safety proposals. And the death of Tracy Clorley on the road served to highlight the changes that were needed.
Steve Oakley, highways manager for Shropshire Council, said:
“We have applied for planning permission to remove the hedgerow along the A528 near Ellesmere to allow for a road improvement scheme.
“Measures will include the resurfacing of the road, improving the visibility and installing drainage.”
If these proposals are accepted, with the public having until the 30th of August to have their say, the work would begin this autumn.
Having a drainage that works is important for rural areas as well as in large cities. Flooding can pose a great risk to roads and buildings and so it is necessary to call in the drain maintenance experts if you ever suspect your property could be adversely affected by blockages in the drains.
Be sure to speak to the industry professionals about anything from drain jetting and root removal to other services such as surface cleaning.
