The new unit purchased in August is unit equipped with it’s own power source, capable of surveying pipes from 100mm up to 1000mm, and able to cover independant sections of line 75Mtrs in length, and record direct to Dvd from the onboard writing system.

After recently being called to a property in North London to investigate root instrusion into a 225mm clay rain water water culvert, London Drainage Facilities proposed a program of repairs which included tracing the culvert using Sond technology, then excavating a shaft onto the upstream side of the culvert, cutting into the line and removing approxmatley 25Ft of root which had 100% blocked the line.

Once the line was clear and free of roots, the line was then subject to the installation of 14.5Mtrs of 225mm thick walled liner to prevent the possibilty of further root penetration. All works were over seen by Barnet councils highways department who commented at the end of the job on our enginers ability and knowledge during the excercise.
