Drain jetting in London

One of the best tools in the drain cleaning company’s armoury is drain jetting equipment. The vast majority of drainage problems can be solved by just jetting the drainage pipe, but how does this work and what is involved?

What is drain jetting?

If you have a blockage in your waste water drain it will need to be removed. If the blockage were to be removed manually, it could involve a large amount of digging and replacement of a section of pipe. So to avoid this, drain cleaning companies use a high pressure jet of water which is directed down the blocked pipe. The pressure and quantity of water is usually enough to dislodge the blockage which can be removed at the nearest manhole.

There are many different reasons as to why the drain may become blocked. These include a build up of garden debris, rough edging joints in the pipe where grime can become lodged, build up of fats and grease, root intrusion or a pipe collapse and soil is filling the void. If your drain becomes blocked regularly or if drain jetting alone is not able to clear the blockage, your drain maintenance company may suggest a CCTV survey of the drain to locate the issue.
