How does water jetting work?

Water jets are heavy duty equipment that use high pressure streams of water for cleaning. To accelerate the process of water jetting, complementary equipment known as an abrasive jet is added to the main machine. Special water jets are used for different purposes like drainage clearance.

The water is first pressurised to 4,000 psi and released with great force. When it comes to cleaning, the water is mixed with garnet abrasive to make the effect more intense. The process is extremely fast and effective.

Basic water jet principle

Water jets have gained a lot of popularity in the last few years. High pressure water is released through small holes which concentrates the pressure.

Design

The water for jets is pressurised to between 4,000 an 6,000 psi. This pressure when released from the tiny openings creates very high velocity.

The use of water jets in drain cleaning

Water jetting is the most effective means of cleaning in hard to reach places. The pressurised water flow is also used to break down and flush away grease and debris.
