Drain maintenance through lining and patch repair methods
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009A drain which is broken or cut through can result in serious issues. The drain water and foul sewage can get exposed on roads and surfaces leading to the spread of many germs. This can pollute the environment and cause illness.
The drain in such a case is lined internally or a patch repair method is employed.
A new internal lining: In cases of leakages in a drain, the drain is lined with polyester resin based felt liner. Such liners can be used for pipe diameters measuring up to 600mm.
A liner 80m in length can be used to line a pipe of diameter 100mm or 150mm. Similarly, liners 50m in length can be used for 225mm and 300mm diameters and liners 30m in length for even larger diameters. Such a liner is mixed with resin. To inflate the inner lining of the pipe surface, an air inversion chamber is used.
Patch repair: An Epoxy Flexi line is used as a patch in places of defects or cracks on the pipe. Such a patch repairs or seals the cuts and bruises on the pipe surface. There is however a loss in the diameter of the pipe. Such a loss is compensated for by the increase in flow rate as all the cracks and gaps are sealed. An increase of fifteen percent in the flow rate is seen after the application of such a patch repair method.
Drainage repair companies in London provide such a service to keep your drains flowing freely.
