CCTV surveys help prevent sewer and drain problems

Monday, May 25th, 2009

CCTV drains surveys generally involve inserting a CCTV camera into the drainage system, so as to locate any kind of problem. These surveys are generally used to spot the exact location for the cause of blocked drains or to even prevent future problems.

A CCTV survey of sewers, pipes and drains can also provide a precise, visual as well as economical means to spot any kind of drain issues. Even though drainage systems are out of sight and are built underground, they should never be ignored. Over time drain systems can degenerate, thereby causing structural problems.

A drainage specialist can visually inspect drains if there are proper inspection chambers and can also see if the drains are blocked or not by using CCTV cameras. CCTV appraisals are usually executed with little disturbance and fuss, but are quick in establishing the facts.
CCTV does not check if the drainage is leaky or watertight, however it will locate and establish the region of blockage or damage.
Drains should be maintained regularly and if cleaned properly they can be used without further problems for many years.
