Blocked drains in Harlington have been causing problems for residents due to the recent heavy downpours in the area. The high street has been completely flooded with water and residents are concerned that the council is not responding quickly enough to the reported issues.

The Director for the environment and also Consumer protection Philomena Bach has however stated that appropriate action was in the process of being taken and the issue should be resolved soon.

“Hillingdon Council is aware of problems reported with blocked drains in Harlington High Street and is currently investigating the problem”.

The surface waters in this area are actually looked after by Thames Water, and the local council is working closely with them to diagnose the problem. When the source of the problem is located remedial action will be taken.
