London Drainage Facilities (LDF) has successfully renewed its accreditation from the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) to act as drainage suppliers for its customers. CHAS is a market leader for Health and Safety pre-qualification in the UK and being CHAS registered gives buyers confidence that a supplier is able to meet their Health & Safety requirements. More importantly, CHAS registration saves buyers time and money when it comes to checking out a supplier’s suitability as CHAS has done all the work for them.
LONDON, ENGLAND, JULY 2013
CHAS is rapidly becoming a construction industry standard which allows buyers to measure Health & Safety standards fairly and consistently across a range of companies working in allied but often dissimilar trades.
The aim of the scheme is to improve Health & Safety standards across the construction industry sector and to alleviate some of the inevitable duplication that exists when completing tender applications.
Major construction industry buyers such as Local Councils, NHS Trusts, Housing Associations and increasingly private organisations who participate in the system can now log-on to a single database and check the current status of all potential suppliers.
CHAS accreditation is increasingly often requested by the countries major construction companies as it allows an uninterrupted transparency in the lengthy chain of the pre-qualification system.
Anthony Reynolds, Health & Safety Officer at LDF, said: “With Health & Safety being the hot topic it is, finding a suitable drainage contractor who is going to manage a company’s Health & Safety needs appropriately is a big concern for many organisations. Being CHAS accredited shows London Drainage’s commitment to Health & Safety and provides potential clients the comfort of knowing their drainage job is going to be completed in the safest way possible.”
