Simple drain rules to follow

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Drains are surprisingly easy to block. You may not think it, but you can end up with a blocked drain by simply putting the wrong things down your sink.

And if you have ever had a blocked drain then you will know how annoying they can be and how stressful it is to unblock them.

By simply keeping a few key rules in mind though, you can normally avoid the trouble of a blocked drain.

• You should never pour fat or grease into your drains. These solidify and can easily block up your drains. The same applies to waste oil and paint.

• You should not plant trees close to your drains because the roots may enter the pipes and cause damage.

• Never flush nappies down the toilet as these will very quickly lead to a blockage.

• Make sure the inspection chamber is clear and that nothing gets accidentally dropped into it.

By following these simple rules, you will be greatly decreasing your chances of blocking your drains.
However, if you do find that your drains become blocked, then there are plenty of companies who can look at your blocked drain in London. These London drainage companies have specialist equipment as well as knowledge to tackle any blockage problems.
