How to unblock drain pipes with water jetting?

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Water jetting includes the use of high pressure water jets to clear the local sewer systems or household drainage systems. They are used to unblock the drains and this is done without any chemicals that can damage the environment. Water jetting uses normal water and it can efficiently remove the grease, dirt and detergents which have accumulated within the drainage systems over many years.

Sometimes, other methods like drain rods are used to clean the drain but these rods can damage the pipes, gullies, bends and traps, if not carefully done. Water jetting can be more effective than the drain rods in breaking the blockage and washing pipe.

For home and business use

The high pressure water jetting is used by professionals to clean home drains. Without having to dig up the pipe, the water is injected in the drainpipes. Water jetting also helps to cut down the roots which have grown in the drain; this is done through the power of the water jets.

Water jetting is required in restaurants, launderettes and other commercial places where the high pressure of water removes the accumulation of deposits, grease, fats and debris.

The reasons of drain clogging

Over time, deposits such as fats, grease, silt and minerals build up on the walls of the drain pipe. This accumulation results in the blockage of the pipes. Pipe walls become rough and reduce the ability to move the water in the drainpipe. The situation turns worse when more materials are deposited in the pipes.

Thus, the effective way to clear the drain pipe and chambers of the deposits is by using high pressure water jetting. The high water pressure acts like sharp blades and helps to cut the grease off the pipe walls.
